I wish I had the time to get into rally. Maybe some day.

Eh. FWD? A rally car is going to be dealing with traction loss. Traction loss in a FWD is depressing and un-fun!
I can get behind RWD. Not FWD

FWD is actually a fantastic platform for rally, and the recommended starter platform. Way better tool for learning left foot braking and weight transfer. And once you get weight transfer down you can drive it crazy fast and sideways.
Check the big weight transfer send at 1:35

Have you tried fwd on dirt?
I was going to say that it’s plenty of fun (which it is ), but I can't deny that rwd would be MORE fun.

NP! With the spares and tires, great deal.

That makes sense. And that weight transfer is pretty damn cool. Maybe it ain’t so bad.

I have not! You’re probably right. I haven’t spent more than an hour driving hard on dirt.
I probably have no idea what I’m saying. I want a rally car.

You really need to push a FWD on dirt before you make that assertion.

I’m not sure what these are but I’m sure one of them is FWD. I’ll fly to you and we’ll give it a shot?
Perhaps the vans aren ’t exactly prone to big ol’ slides but together we’ll find a way.

The rally van is actually a lot of fun to throw around on dirt/gravel. I’ve run a few rally-x events with it. It’s the only one currently in the stable that I have played with off road. It is extremely tail happy.
You come into a corner hot, turn in as you brake to upset the balance, then countersteer and use the throttle to keep it going the right direction. The result is a nice smooth slide carrying loads of speed.
